I've had several people ask how to achieve this look for Spring, here's how.... First I started with the eye shadow application. I applied a thin layer of eye shadow base, orb eye shadow under the brow, bitter eye shadow on the lid, a light sweep of saddle in the crease (All eye shadows by MAC.) Once the eyes were complete, I applied the foundation, concealer and pressed powder. I then went back to the eyes and I applied boot black liquid (MAC) eye liner to the top lid, Kiss black eye liner to the water line with fushia pigment (MAC) smudged in the lower lashes. I applied hootchie lip tar with pink petal gloss on top by 7. I contoured the cheeks with harmony and popped the apples of the cheek with pink swoon also by Mac.

Brow Fix!

I just visited my local Benefit counter and discovered they have a wonderful Brow shaping kit called Brow Zings. It comes with a brow wax, brow filling powder, tweezers, angle brush and a brow wax applicator..... This was an absolute pleasure. It has everthing you would need for the perfect brows. You can apply the brow wax first if you want to add dept with the brow powder.Once you apply the powder, comb through the bows ( the wax will help keep the hairs fro the brows shaped and in place) if they're any stray hairs, you can remove them with the tweezers. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!!!

New Finds from Laura Mercier

Thought I would share my new great finds from Laura Mercier. For those of you looking for a natural glow without too much shimmer, check out Laura mercier's foundation primer with natural radiance. You can mix this with your foundation or apply it to the skin before your foundation application. The plus.... it can be worn by itself. Their golden Mosaic Bronzer is a huge plus to my cosmetic bag along with lioglace Ambre rose and Bare Beige.... It gives a suttle but enhanced look !!!

Eye Liner!!

I don't claim to know everything when it comes to make up. I say this because I love when my clients come in with there cosmetic bags, it takes me to another world. I love seeing what they have and what they feel is great... I discovered another eyeliner while digging in my clients cosmetic bag lol. Lorac "carried at Ulta" has a great pin liner called Front of the Line in color Pro Black. This is a water proof eye liner with a semi matte finish "recommended for use on the upper lash line." with this, you can achieve a fine precise line without using any tools such as a fine lining brush, angle brush etc... If you decide to stop by Ulta and purchase, let me know what you think.

Preps for a Bride!!

As a makeup artist sometimes I forget to tell my brides how to prep before their wedding so here are a few tips:

1. Schedule a trial run and try to get a contract
2. Drink plenty of water weeks before your wedding, this helps the skin look fresh and hydrated. If you have a Bachelorette party and alcohol is involved, drink water that night. Alcohol can lead up to you having dry flaky skin the day off. If you notice skin flaking, try to exfoliate.
3. If you wax your brows/face try doing it on that Monday or the week before. Sometimes wax takes off the first layer(dead skin cell) and it could show lines of demarcation
4. Try being on time, you never know what your makeup artist has scheduled... unless you're paying a day rate then she's all yours!

Tips for my Brides/Wedding Season!!

Hello All!!

It's been a great season so far... I just want to give a few tips for any future Brides.. I've learned/seen a lot over the past few months and I would love to share some tips that my Brides shared with me on what to do/what not to do. When it comes to hair and makeup, always do a trial run and try to get a contract. This morning, I had a Bride and her hairstylist didn't show up. Second have a time line, Third if your able, try getting your nails and toes done during the week not the day of "one less thing to worry about"  and please get a "Wedding Planner" it's the best decision you could ever make. If you're in the Huntsville area, please check out Calandra Terry contact number 256-858-3883 Next Blog tips for Prepping a Bride.  Thank you for reading!!!
